Vacations: The Smokies & The Rockies

Comments

The Rookies are such a beautiful place, our family went camping in the Rockies, about every other summer. My dad liked to stay in the park, in the pop-up camper, because it was cost effective, and we all like to camp. We used to spend our first day climbing a little mountain behind the Glacier Basin Campground, Emerald Mountain.

When you look at all the topographical maps it is just a tiny bump. But it was a quick climb, with no path, and you can sit at the top for quite awhile, because its a quick climb down too. In later years a couple of us would climb up hang out for a bit at the top, and then climb down. I highly recommend hiking up it with some water a few snacks and a journal. With no path to follow its a special little climb, in a way the places with paths aren't. At any rate I think on the maps it down behind loop c in in the camp ground. And I'm jealous you are going.. I haven't been in years. I miss it.

Hopefully the family visit will be wonderful and healing too. :)
the rockies-that sounds like such a relaxing, calming time. I want to go! lol
I hope you have a wonderful time on both vacations!

That sounds great. Your mom will be so happy to meet her granddaughter!

Sounds wonderful. Especially the solo vacay in the Rockies. You deserve some "you" time!
