What's With All The Testing You Ask?
Just testing a fancy new phone that I'm not sure that I actually need.
Ok, I am suffering tremendous
buyer's remorse today (and over the weekend). You see, I took my boys to the Verizon Wireless store near the house (for the umteenth-millionth time?) to get their phones repaired. I just love paying monthly family share fees for phones that haven't worked since May! I ended up whipping out my rapidly shrinking wallet and buying one of those fancy Motorola Q smart phones. The phone is sexy, sleek, and only cost me $100 with a 2 year renewal.
Middle son can't seem
to keep from breaking everything he owns. He is more clumsy that me and tends to break, crack, and destroy any electronic device that he comes in contact with that has a cost of more than $100. So, two nano's, one shuffle, and two LG cell phones later (in 13 months time), I'm drawing the line. This weekend was the very last time in my life that I will replace anything of his that has inexplicably become broken, automagically by itself. The VZW people were kind enough to swap out his phone for the last time for the small fee of $50. Something about the water damage and pit bull tooth marks on the screen made them think that it wasn't under warranty anymore. Hmmm.
Oldest son is
on his second phone. They warrantied his out no questions asked. His has some weird problem with it going into car kit mode at random times. Simple enough.
Now, my quandry
is this: Do I need this smartphone? Before this weekend, I'd only used a phone to check my gmail, take pics, and send and receive sms/mms messages - oh, and make phones calls. I'm just not sure that I need this sexy little smartphone. I'd love to find a way to rationalize my keeping this phone rather than returning it in the next couple days.
