Hilldawg was supposed
to win convincingly here.... eeecked by with a 1.8% victory. Essentially a tie since delegates are divided proportionately. I'm guessing she concedes next Wednesday if not sooner. As well, in the 2004 Hendricks Co. Primary, the Rep:Dem voting ratio was 80:20. This time it was 36:64. Quite a swing.
Oh yes, and we have NO Democratic office holders in this county.
Another earthquake.... Shake it!
It's been something
like 40 years since Indiana has had a say in a Presidential Primary. The likely nominee is always decided by now. As most of us are aware - this year is different. We have an insider vs a change agent. Some of you folks on here know that I'm generally center to center-right on my politics so I'm stepping out of my comfort zone here. I'm volunteering to help the Obama Campaign in Indiana. I don't agree with everything he says but his messages of hope and action are encouraging.
I find it very interesting
that Obama came to our High School first to speak in Indiana (see circle face waving at Obama). Why is that interesting? Because our entire county does not have any elected Democrats. Because Presidential Primary candidates never campaign in Indiana (at least not for the last several decades).
Anyway, I like the message.
Change. No PAC money. National Healthcare. Energy Independence. FAIR Trade.
Any Indiana/Illinois voxers feel the earthquake overnight?
I did not feel it. I only know about it because one of the local radio stations is playing only songs that talk about shaking.
So ... we had UFOs and unexplained explosions on Wed night and an earthquake last night - what's coming tonight?
Nothing, of course. Hmmmmm

TIPTON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) - Police are still not sure what caused a bright light in the sky followed by a loud explosion near the Tipton-Howard County line.Several residents called police and news outlets saying that they had seen the lights and/or had experienced what felt like a large explosion as far away as Kokomo.
Police think that it may have resulted from military flares or even an astronomical event.
"With the reports of sparks things falling from the sky, our aviation section reported that a meteor shower activity over the last couple of nights. We had a similar instance in Logansport yesterday with a loud bang that I believe that they had classified as a meteor shower. So to our best guess tonight Mother Nature has created this big incident," said Sgt. Jeremy Kelly, Indiana State Police.
"I think it rocked everybody's house and I am scared for everybody. I don't know if it was a meteorite or if it was a plane or if it was jet going over from Grissom, it could have been numerous things," said Jodi Brown from Kokomo.
Initial reports brought countless police, fire and rescue units to an area near the intersection of U.S. 31 and 300 North in Tipton County. But, after finding nothing while searching that area, the search began moving west and north back into Howard County.
Units responding included sheriff deputies from Howard and Tipton counties, Kokomo and Tipton city police, Indiana State Police, Howard County Emergency Management Agency and fire departments from Harrison and Taylor townships, Sharpsville and Kempton. After nearly an hour of searching, however, no debris of any sort had been found. Authorities at Grissom Air Reserve Base and Indianapolis International Airport were contacted, but they told police they had no aircraft missing.
Police believe it is possible that the boom and lights may have been caused by a meteor or other atmospheric disturbance. Immediately after the boom, there was a slight metallic smell in the air in downtown Kokomo.
We will continue to follow this story throughout the day here on WISHTV.com and on 24-Hour News 8.

Clowned around
at the gardens today. Most of the pictures turned out crappy. But there are a couple keepers. Here you go:
FINALLY .... !
Let's hope it is true! Larry Bird, once the prodigal son, has been the worst thing to happen to basketball since the IHSAA did away with the single class tourneys.
*Update: they fired Rick but left Larry in charge of operations! Unbelievable!
