Ok who turned on that annoying snap shot pop up shit on my blog? I only need one window to surf in. When I want more windows I will select them. Jesus Christ I hate that shit - there better be a way to disable it or I'm outta here.
Hunting for the big pop up hammer.
So, a year ago today
I joined Vox. My first post was: http://indy.vox.com/library/post/ok-newbie-to-vox.html. Jenny left my first ever comment.
I confess to thinking
that I would bail in less than 30 days but here we are a year later. The past year has been a 'fun' year to say the least. With the old ex trying to scam me, the new ex taking me for everything, losing my home, bankruptcy, the reposession of both vehicles, and general loneliness and unhappyiness I'm happy to say that each day looks better. Of course when I look back at how terrible this year has been I get all emotional but I'm hoping the next 365 days bring resolution to a lot of crap.
My year hasn't been
all bad though. My relationship with my children is stronger than ever. My oldest son turned 18 and is miraculously starting to see the importance of college. My oldest daughter (16) broke up with her way to old for her boyfriend! My youngest son (17) finally got to start on the varsity squad this year at center. Then of course circle face - she is my best friend. She does more for me than I could ever do for her! She is my angel.
There is one thing
that I am certain of ... having this outlet has made the hell a little less hellish and the good times a little bit better. Thank you Vox.
I've been wanting to post
something
about her for awhile. She is a wonderful musician. I check her vox 2
or 3 times per week just to listen to her songs. I can't write well
enough to do her any justice so I'll just say that her words make me feel and think
more than most music does. She also has a voice that sounds like a
musical instrument - hmmm, I mean that her voice sounds really good.
Does anyone else have a slightly sad feeling when one of your neighbors just delete's the Vox without saying anything?
Ok... I might be going nutz. Is it my imagination? Did they change VoxWatch again? Didn't it used to list posts that you commented on from way way back? It seems now that it only shows threads with comments from the last week or so.
How do I find something from say - last month?

My blog is worth $38,953.26.
How much is your blog worth?
I just realized that
this past Saturday was my 3 month anniversary here on Vox. As you can probably tell I've not blogged very long. I did all of 20 or so posts during the month of Oct 2006 on my other personal blog before I jumped ship for Vox. I dig the level of interaction here on Vox so I don't think that I would ever completely stop posting here. I really hope that the Vox/6A people realize that the social networking aspects of Vox are what make this place hum. The 'secret sauce' for Vox is not the pretty bells and whistles that we have here rather it is the frictionless interaction of the Vox users. Without the people providing all of the content for their clique to view then there would be no viable model for Vox.
I think that I want
to spread out a little more and focus on one or two niche areas that do not lend themselves well to a personal blog. My Vox is personal. Obviously, if I dump 3 or 4 posts somewhere else then that takes away from my personal thing here at Vox. That is probably a good thing as it would cut out most of the low quality posts that I have on here now.
A couple ideas that I've been thinking about:
No holds barred blogging about Indianapolis/Central Indiana - enjoyindy.com
Second Life 24 Hour News Blog - I have an undisclosed domain for this as well. I guess I'd have to learn how be a part of this Second Life thing though.... might be too much of a time investment. Might need an investor so that I could pay some 'reporters' that know how to navigate that thing.
A parody blog that is a satirized composite of the 'power blogs' on the web. Undisclosed domain name.
Anyway, just some Tuesday night ramblings fer ya'.
Thanks to Webcruiser for reminding me to check my vox as a graph again. I found this on Webcruise's site last Halloween - so here is the updated graph. The first one is from Oct 2006. The second is from today. Hint - they are amazingly similar. Do this graph yourself by clicking here.
I just saw an ad for my neighbor's house (for sale) on Vox ...
